The Practice

An architectural partnership was founded in 1976 at Hampstead, London, which developed to premises to Covent Garden. The current practice commenced in Hertford in 1980 working on mixed projects, but began to specialise in work involving historic buildings.

Since 2001 the office is now established at Southwold, Suffolk providing historic building services complemented by the architect and project-management practice that Alan is the
historic and conservation consultant to in Richmond, London.

The office has remained small and personal by design ensuring that every project is carried out under the personal direction of the principal of the practice, which provides building and landscape conservation services for

private and company clients, and government agencies, and to
fellow professionals requiring particular knowledge, expertise and experience.
Balance

The balance of practice, education and consultancy enables the office to be
up-to-date with current conservation issues, architecture, design and computer technology.
Alan's providing and hosting lecturers maintains close contact with current issues and practitioners.
